Louise Upperton

Louise has 18 years of experience in business development, marketing, communications, design, advertising and music – crafting authentic and engaging experiences for brands and consumers.

After graduating with high honours from Carleton University, Canada’s top School of Journalism, Louise spent six years as a visual artist, graphic designer and art director.

She went on to work with Arts & Crafts – one of Canada’s most important independent record labels – as Art Director and was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Album Artwork Design in 2006. She later led global and digital music marketing and distribution for the label, working with artists such as Feist, Broken Social Scene and Stars.

In 2010, she relocated to Hong Kong and joined TBWA, a global advertising network, as Director of Marketing across 17 markets in Asia-Pacific.

She returned to Toronto at the end of 2016,to lead global business development and strategy for GraysonX, an immersive content and technology production company focused on music and sound experiences, and Grayson Matthews, a creative audio agency.

More recently, as Chief Marketing Officer at RISE Life Science, she brought her unique skill set and experience to the health and wellness, and cannabis space.

An adept marketer and communications professional, her focus has always been at the intersection of innovation, art and technology – driving results and building relationships with creative innovators and brands.
